West Des Moines-based grocery chain Hy-Vee has launched an online financial and insurance business.
Hy-Vee Financial Services features products such as checking and savings accounts, auto and home insurance, home mortgages, consumer loans and pet insurance.
The program is through its subsidiary Midwest Heritage bank, also based in West Des Moines, and its financial products can be found on the bank’s website.
Life and health insurance plans are to be rolled out later this year, the retailer said.
“By leveraging our ownership of our subsidiary, Midwest Heritage, we are able to serve our customers in a new way that meets those needs, while also bringing more value to our Hy-Vee Fuel Saver + Perks and Hy-Vee Plus members,” Hy-Vee Chairman, CEO and President Randy Edeker said in a news release Thursday.
Kiosks also have been installed in 210 Hy-Vee venues so potential customers can view the financial service’s options, the company said.
